Calculate savings with green cleaning products

The Green Key member toolbox provides a tool for those interested in reducing the environmental impact of cleaning products.

Green Key establishments now have access to a short assessment of carbon and plastic savings to be made by using eco-labelled cleaning products.

The calculator helps estimate the environmental footprint of a site’s conventional cleaning product and how much plastic waste and crude oil can be avoided by applying opting for green cleaning products. Green Key provides a list of independent eco-labels for cleaning products on the Tools and Templates page.

The carbon savings calculator developed by Werner & Mertz and powered by Green Care Professional is now available in the “washing and cleaning” section of Green Key website’s toolbox.

Green Care products’ components come from renewable sources and the packaging is also made out of 100% recycled plastic - a good way to save crude oil, plastic and CO2 emissions. These products have received the European Ecolabel and Cradle-to-Cradle logo, a certification measuring the safety and sustainability of products made for circular economy.

Molecaten camping and vacation parks in the Netherlands have switched to use Green Care Professional cleaning products, with 14 of their sites now awarded with Green Key, in part thanks to their significant reduction of CO2 emissions. Their use of Green Care products is presented to the guests to emphasise the holistic green concept of the parks alongside their solar panels, energy-saving bulbs and timers for air-conditioning and heating.

In the UK, a range of Green Care Professional products can sourced from Arrow County Supplies.
